Acer palmatum ‘Green Spider’ is a very nice green lace leaf with a very pendulous habit. Leaves emerge light green in the spring and hold an attractive green color throughout the summer. The leaves then turn from orange to red in the fall. 10 Year Size: Height: 3-5 feet Width: 3-5 feet

Acer palmatum ‘Hanezu Hagoromo’ has a very unique leaf shape that categorizes this tree as a Sessilifolium Japanese maple. All Japanese maples in this group are known for their small, feathery shaped leaves. These oddly shaped leaves are yellow in the spring and light green in the summer. Acer palmatum ‘Harold’s Pink and White’ is an outstanding variegated variety of Japanese maples. This should come as no surprise due to the name, but the light green leaves are covered with splashes of pinks and whites. Acer palmatum ‘Herbstfeuer’ is a fast, upright growing Japanese maple with large, round leaves. In German, the name means Autumn fire and 'Herbstfeuer' certainly lives up to its name with its fiery red and orange colors in the fall. In spring, the large rounded leaves, held on red petioles, appear very light green with a white pubescence before turning dark green for summer. The growth habit is decidedly upright when young, becoming more rounded with age. Acer palmatum 'Hilleri' is an upright growing red Japanese maple tree. 'Hilleri' has dark burgundy leaves in the spring that hole good color throughout the summer. Fall color is a bright crimson red. Acer palmatum ‘Hogyoku’ is an upright, green Japanese maple with very attractive foliage. 'Hogyoku' is mostly known for its pumpkin orange fall color. In warmer climates it sometimes has yellow leaves in the fall that have orange and red washed across them. Hogyoku matures into a compact stocky tree over time and is somewhat slower growing than other similar trees. The thick green leaves have a little flip or curve to the leaf margins giving the tree a wonderful texture that compliments almost any garden setting. Hogyoku tolerates full sun in all but the hottest climates. Acer palmatum ‘Hubble’s Super Cork’ is a relatively new variety that develops rough bark at a very young age compared to similar varieties. These rough bark Japanese maples are always fascinating because it is such a stark contrast from the typical smooth bark of the vast majority of Japanese maples. ‘Hubble’s Super Cork’ leafs out in the spring with bright green leaves which darken as summer approaches. Fall color is a vibrant orange to red. Acer palmatum 'Inaba Shidare' is a Great Weeping Dwarf Japanese Maple for Sunny Gardens Acer palmatum ‘Inaba shidare’ is a dwarf Japanese maple with a weeping growth habit. 'Inaba Shidare' is one of the best lace leaf Japanese maple cultivars for hotter climates. 'Inaba shidare' can grow in full sun in even some of the hottest climates in the United States. The name 'Inaba Shidare' means "like the cascading leaves of the rice plant" and has been grown since at least the mid 1800s in Japan. Acer palmatum 'Inaba shidare' is a larger grower for a dwarf Japanese maple but still only gets to be about 6 feet tall at maturity. 'Inaba shidare' grows with a weeping and spreading habit eventually maturing to about 6 to 8 feet wide. Acer palmatum 'Inaba Shidare' has lacey leaves that are very dark red or burgundy in early spring and I have heard them described as almost black. As summer approaches they become more red, then turn bronze before being one of the last Japanese maples in our gardens to finally give in to the Georgia heat and turn green. Acer palmatum ‘Japanese Sunrise’ is a fast growing selection, probably from 'Sango kaku' seedlings that has wonderful variations in its bark color. While bark colors can range from almost yellow to bright red depending on the time of year and the age of bark you are looking at, the orange colors produced in the dead of winter are the most unique. Bark color is always best in full sun and sometimes can show up yellow on the north or shady side which gives the plant a totally different look depending on the angle from which it is viewed. In spring 'Japanese Sunrise emerges with small lime green leaves that darken as summer takes hold, then in fall change to a quite remarkable shade of yellow. ‘JJ Fire Red ’ has deeply divided red leaves that appear in early spring with a beautiful red with white pubescence, first bronzing and then turning more green by summer in hot climates. A small spreading tree with great fall color that ranges from yellow to orange to red. Acer palmatum ‘Kamagata’ is dwarf form of palmatum introduced by J.D. Vertrees himself. The small delicate looking leaves first appear in spring edged in purple. By summer they become a nice bright green. Fall color is usually yellow to orange.10 year size: Height: 3-5 Feet   Width: 2-4 Feet    

Acer palmatum 'Kinky Krinkle' is an unusual Japanese maple with "krinkled" leaves similar to the famous lion's head Japanese maple, 'Shishigashira'. However, 'Kinky Krinkle' does not have quite the same curl to the leaves that 'Shishigashira' has. 'Kinky Krinkle' leafs out in spring with bright green leaves. These green leaves darken in the summer. The fall color is a bright orange-red. Acer palmatum ‘Kinshi’ has some of the finest leaves of the linearlobum type maples. This little guy is a hit in any garden. 'Kinshi' is relatively quick growing when young for a maple that is still a small tree at maturity. Spring color is lime green, the color darkens in summer. Acer palmatum ‘Koshibori nishiki’ is a beautiful variegated Japanese maple with a light dusting of white and yellow variegation across the regularly green foliage. ‘Koshibori nishiki’ has very small green leaves that display the nice variegation.
