Acer japonicum 'Ed Woods' is a Full Moon Japanese Maple with some of largest leaves of any Japanese maple. These large leaves are emerald green in the spring and summer. In the fall they turn to a bright orange and eventually red. 'Ed Woods' develops into a small to medium sized tree with its large leaves always standing out as a distinguishing characteristic.

Acer sieboldianum ‘Kumoi nishiki’ is an upright growing Japanese maple with dark green leaves with a white dust-like variegation sprinkled across all of the leaves. This variegation holds really well throughout the summer before the leaves turn various shades of orange. The dusted variegation turns purple in the fall to go with the orange foliage. ‘Kumoi nishiki’ is a very cold tolerant Japanese maple like all Acer sieboldianums. ‘Kumoi nishiki’ should be grown in mostly shade in order to maximize the variegation in the foliage. ‘Kumoi nishiki’ is a very nice alternative to ‘Ukigumo’.

Acer palmatum ‘Bell Green’ is an excellent green Japanese maple with an upright habit. The leaves of ‘Bell Green’ actually emerge with a peachy, orange color. The color will eventually turn to green for most of the year. The name simply means green cascading which perfectly describes this great little tree. In spring the green color has a slightly blue tint that separates it from other green dissectums. At one time all green dissectums were probably called 'Ao shidare' but over time this cultivar became dominant and rightly so. Growth is very strong and pendulous. Ao shidare will tolerate full sun better than most green dissectum cultivars but could still benefit from some shade in hotter climates. Acer palmatum ‘Peve Multicolor’ is a tremendous variegated variety of Japanese maple with white dusting across the foliage. Unfortunately, this variegation is inconsistent and does not appear every year. Without the variegation, ‘Peve Multicolor’ has light green leaves and an attractive form. This seems to be the more common look for us. Our Peve Multicolor are not currently showing variegation. Fall color is going to be a brilliant yellow to orange regardless of the variegation.
