Acer palmatum ‘Tom Thumb’ is a dwarf Japanese maple with ‘Mikawa yatsabusa’ lineage. ‘Tom Thumb’ stays very small and compact with the typical leaves of ‘Mikawa yatsabusa’. ‘Tom Thumb’ has more of a shrubby, rounded habit compared to others in the same family. ‘Tom Thumb’ comes out lime green in the spring before darkening to a dark green in the summer. Acer palmatum ‘Twombly’s Red Sentinel’ is a Fast Growing Red Japanese Maple with a Compact and Columnar Growth Habit 'Twombly's Red Sentinel' grows with an extreme upright habit and very little lateral growth. 'Twombly's Red Sentinel' grows narrow and compact becoming a dense shrub with a tall, upright shape. This tree eventually develops into a column like shape. Acer palmatum ‘Vic’s Broom’ is a fast growing dwarf Japanese maple with tiny leaves. These small leaves emerge in spring light green with red edges. The leaves transition to solid green by late spring. Acer palmatum 'Yeager Dwarf' probably also known as just 'Yeager' is a dwarf Japanese maple with a very low growing and dense habit. This Japanese maple shares many of the common characteristics of the "hime" type Japanese maples with the small green leaves, dense foliage, and flat topped growth habit. This little plant has deeply divided leaves that are clustered tightly along the branches. With short internodal lengths 'Yuri hime can be quite difficult to propagate therefore it is rarely seen in nurseries. Spring color is pale green growing darker in summer even more so in heavy shade.
