Acer palmatum ‘White Peaches’ is a heavily reticulated Japanese maple. ‘White Peaches’ emerges in spring with brilliant white leaves that appear to be dipped in red. These red tips go away rather quickly, giving way to the bright white spring leaves. The white leaves are contrasted by the bright green veining on each leaf. While the colors do fade by the summer time, there is still quite a bit of reticulated variegation left on the leaves throughout the summer. Acer palmatum 'Ukigumo' is the famous "Floating Cloud" maple. In early spring dazzling foliage opens speckled with pink and white. In summer the pink fades leaving only a dusting of white to hint at its former spring glory. Unfortunately in areas with hotter climates the variegation is not nearly as well developed and some years does not show at all. Oh the anticipation of a gardener in a hot climate hoping each spring that this will be the year that his prized "Floating Cloud" will actually show its colors. If you do actually get to see variegation in early spring in these hot locations it is fleeting at best as it will fade to green quickly leaving the gardener waiting and wanting until next spring. Compact and upright when young 'Ukigumo' matures into a beautiful small round topped tree. Fall color is generally orange.

Acer palmatum 'Ryugu' is a very exciting variegated Japanese maple. 'Ryugu' has about as much variegation to the leaves as any other Japanese maple. The speckled white variegation is quite consistent and should persist year over year. The other thing that is so interesting about this Japanese maple is it's dwarf, compact growth habit. 'Ryugu' will stay quite small with a dense and compact habit. The leaves are green with mostly creamy white variegation speckled all over the leaves. When fall comes 'Ryugu' catches on fire with very bright orange-red color.

Pinus parviflora 'Tenysu kazu' Variegated Japanese White Pine

Pinus parviflora ‘Tenysu kazu’ is a dwarf Japanese white pine with golden variegation to otherwise green foliage. ‘Tenysu kazu’ is a dense, upright growing pine that shouldn’t reach more than 4 feet at maturity. The golden color is best displayed in nearly full sun situations. ‘Tenysu kazu’ is also known for its small, attractive cones. ‘Tenysu kazu’ is most likely synonymous with Pinus Parviflora ‘Goldylocks’, however ‘Tenysu kazu’ is believed to be the proper name. There is enough conflicting information though that we keep both varieties labelled separately.
