'Burke's Bonsai' has exceptionally short, blue-green needles and relatively short stems. These qualities make this an excellent dwarf Japanese white pine for bonsai as the name suggests. 'Burke's Bonsai' also has plenty of small, attractive cones that make this an awesome little tree. This tree was introduced by Joe Burke in 1989.

The golden color is best displayed in nearly full sun situations. ‘Tenysu kazu’ is also known for its small, attractive cones. ‘Tenysu kazu’ is most likely synonymous with Pinus Parviflora ‘Goldylocks’, however ‘Tenysu kazu’ is believed to be the proper name. There is enough conflicting information though that we keep both varieties labelled separately.
