This juvenile foliage form of hinoki cypress offers a totally different texture in the garden. Pinus parviflora 'Blauer Engel' is an upright growing Japanese White Pine with bright blue-green foliage. The needles are longer than typical Japanese White Pines and the bright blue color definitely makes this pine stand out among others. Picea orientalis ‘Skylands’ is an awesome, upright growing oriental spruce. The new growth of ‘Skylands’ glows a golden yellow, while the older foliage appears a darker green. ‘Skylands’ will mature to roughly ten feet tall in ten years and becomes quite sun tolerant with age. 10 year size: Height: 6-8 feet Width: 4-6 feet

In spring this great Chinese arborvitae has wonderful sprays of chartreuse new growth set atop the darker green older foliage. Picea abies 'Gold Drift' is a fantastic weeping Norway spruce with golden yellow color. 'Gold Drift' is most commonly staked when young to develop a central leader. This creates a taller more narrow growing tree. The branches then weep out on the ends creating the look of a golden waterfall. Picea abies ‘Pendula’ is a weeping form of Norway Spruce. With most of its growth going downward, ‘Pendula’ is usually staked to give it some height, but can also be left alone to form more of a ground cover. The needles of ‘Pendula’ are an attractive dark green with light green new growth. Picea abies ‘Pendula’ is an excellent tree to cascade over a wall or planter.
