Acer palmatum ‘Ruby Ridge’ has an unusually large leaf that is also unusually shaped. These unique leaves have a dark burgundy color in the spring. Acer palmatum 'Ruby Lace' is a gorgeous lace leaf Japanese maple with a bright, ruby red color to the foliage in the spring. This color does fade a bit in the summer. The leaves turn to a bright yellow to orange in the fall, which is a very unusual fall color for a Japanese maple with red spring foliage. 'Ruby Lace' is a fast growing lace leaf Japanese maple with a low, spreading habit.  10 Year Size: Height: 3-5 feet   Width: 5-7 feet

Acer palmatum ‘Crimson Princess’ is a low, spreading Japanese maple. ‘Crimson Princess’ has lacy leaves that emerge red in the spring. These red leaves typically transition to a darker burgundy color in the summer. Fall color is a bright red. 10 Year Size: Height: 3-5 feet Width: 4-6 feet

Acer palmatum ‘Beni shidare’ is one of the most pendulous varieties we grow. It has deep purple red color in spring and maintains its color well into summer before turning bronze and then green. Fall color is  bright red and striking. This is probably one of the oldest red dissectum forms, as the name simply means red cascading, at one time all red weeping forms were given this name. Over time a superior clone must have been selected and remains in production today. Acer palmatum ‘Ruby Stars’ is an excellent dwarf Japanese maple with impressive colors throughout the year. ‘Ruby Stars’ has small, rounded leaves that emerge in spring a brilliant, deep red. These leaves then turn green in the summer. Come fall, the foliage of ‘Ruby Stars’ turns a bright, golden yellow. ‘Ruby Stars’ has a very dense, upright habit and forms a small, shrubby tree at maturity. Acer palmatum ‘Ruby Stars’ is synonymous with Acer palmatum ‘Beni hoshi’. Trees listed as Pre-order are not yet available and will not ship immediately. Acer palmatum ‘Mon Papa’ is an upright growing Japanese maple with a full, bushy structure. The leaves of ‘Mon papa’ emerge dark red in the spring. The leaves will turn to a burgundy, then bronze color before turning completely green in the summer. Fall color for Mon papa is bright red. 10 Year Size: Height: 6-8 feet Width: 4-6 feet

In early spring the star shaped leaves emerge brilliant red with prominent veining before becoming darker and more of a brick red. 'Wattez' holds color well in to the summer even in hotter climates before turning first bronze and then green. Fall color is a wonderful bright red or orange sometimes having hints of gold. Although it is reported that this tree can get quite tall with age, it appears to be quite shrubby when young. 10 Year Size: Height: 10-12 feet Width: 6-8 feet

With one of the most dissected leaves you will ever see on a Japanese maple 'Red Filigree Lace' has been a highly sought after "collectors plant" for many years. Originally propagated from a chance seedling by Will Curtis in Sherwood, Oregon, this plant will become an eye-catching topic of conversation in any garden.  Very pendulous the habit is mounding and very low unless staked or grafted on a standard. 'Red Filigree Lace' probably holds it' red color in summer in the Southeastern U.S. better than any red cultivar of Japanese maple. It does however require some shade. Amazingly it will hold its color even in somewhat shady conditions. Given perfect growing conditions it is not only a reliable plant but in some instances becomes quite vigorous. Unfortunately in hot climates it is very slow growing and is susceptible to over watering when young. In very early spring the delicate looking foliage is decidedly red becoming darker purple in summer before turning crimson in fall. Do not let the intricate finely cut lacy leaf fool you, as long as you provide a well-drained environment 'Red Filigree Lace' is a very sturdy and hardy plant that any gardener should feel lucky to have. Acer palmatum ‘Purple Curl’ is one of the most interesting and unique Japanese maples you will ever see. The leaf is shaped like a shirasawanum leaf but with curled edges. The colors of ‘Purple Curl’ are also incredibly unique. ‘Purple Curl’ will have a combination of reds, greens, purples, yellows, and oranges all on the foliage at the same time. Acer palmatum ‘Korean Gem’ is a nice broad leaf Japanese maple that has more of a spreading habit than the majority of broad leaf Japanese Maples. ‘Korean Gem’ has nice green leaves that are contrasted by dark colored bark. Acer palmatum ‘Dragon Tears’ is a semi-pendulous tree that grows more out rather than up or down. ‘Dragon Tears’ will get some height, but its growth habit will result in a tree that is at least as wide as it is tall. ‘Dragon Tears’ has small, deeply divided, broad leaves. These leaves have a nice, deep burgundy color in the spring. The leaves will fade somewhat in the summer, but should always maintain at least a hint of burgundy. The the fall, ‘Dragon Tears’ displays a nice orange-red fall color that will put on a show. 10 Year Size: Height: 6-8 feet Width: 6-8 feet

Introduced by Talon Buchholz, 'Sweet Lorraine' has amazing lacy leaves with greens and pinks in the spring with its reticulation showing the dark green veining. After spring, leaves transition to a lighter green color and finally in fall, 'Sweet Lorraine' turns a bright yellow/orange color. Sweet Lorraine stays relatively small, only projected to reach about 4 feet or so.
