This is a very rare reticulated leaf form dissectum. The new leaves in spring are light green sometimes almost white with dark veins. A great plant for many parts of the world. Although very beautiful 'Filigree' is more of a collector plant in hotter climates as summers heat will really do a number on it around August, causing it to drop a large percentage of it's leaves. This is caused by heat and not lack of water. If you must try your luck with this plant in hotter climates please place in a cool shady spot. The name simply means green cascading which perfectly describes this great little tree. In spring the green color has a slightly blue tint that separates it from other green dissectums. At one time all green dissectums were probably called 'Ao shidare' but over time this cultivar became dominant and rightly so. Growth is very strong and pendulous. Ao shidare will tolerate full sun better than most green dissectum cultivars but could still benefit from some shade in hotter climates. 'Rikuzen shidare' has a weeping habit and grows similarly to Ryu sei. It will only grow as tall as it is staked and will weep down to the ground from there.
