Japanese Maples and Conifers

This is a great cultivar of the Japanese white pines also known commonly as five needle pines. 'Glauca' is slow growing and narrow when young, becoming wider with age. Older trees can reach 25 feet or more but this takes many, many years. A beautiful specimen in the landscape, 'Glauca' has short curved blue green needles.  10 year size:   Height: 8-10 Feet   Width: 3-5 Feet

Cryptomeria japonica ‘Araucarioides’ is a highly irregular Japanese cedar with snake-like branches. Branches extend out from a central end point of each branch creating multiple bunches of these long snake-like branches. This is one of the most unusual growing trees that we have at Maple Ridge Nursery and we often refer to it as our Dr. Seuss plant as it looks as though it belongs in a fictional world. ‘Araucarioides’ is slow growing when young, but speeds up after a few years and develops into a medium size tree. 10 Year Size: Height: 10-12 feet Width: 4-6 feet

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Sunny Swirl’ is an excellent dwarf conifer that twisted branches that set this plant apart. The tips of some of the branches also fuse together creating attractive fasciations. ‘Sunny Swirl’ grows upright and conical forming a small, bushy tree.10 Year Size: Height: 5-7 feet Width: 4-5 feet

Cedrus deodara ‘Feelin Blue’ is a mounding form of deodara cedar that exhibits some of the best blue color of any cedar. ‘Feelin Blue’ is a relatively dwarf cedar that will only reach four or five feet tall over a ten year period.
