Cryptomeria japonica ‘Bandai’ is a mounding form of Japanese cedar with the foliage appearing to form in tight dark green clumps. It will be slightly taller than wide. It will grow equally well in sun or shade.This plant is sometimes called 'Bandai Sugi' but according to recently accepted rules for plant names the sugi has been dropped because it means Cryptomeria and thus is redundant.
