'Yubae' was originally selected be J.D. Vertrees for its black on red variegation. This variegation however is seldom if ever seen. That being said this very strong growing red variety is still highly desirable. The normally dark red foliage appears to change color depending on which way the light hits it due to its translucent leaves.
