Acer palmatum ‘Gold Digger’ is a new variety with unique winter bark interest. Similar to ‘Bihou’ and ‘Dixie Delight’, ‘Gold Digger’ boasts excellent, light yellow bark especially during the winter. The pale yellow color of the bark differentiates ‘Gold Digger’ from these other two varieties. The leaves of ‘Gold digger’ are green spring and summer before turning yellow to orange in the fall. 10 Year Size: Height: 8-10 feet Width: 6-8 feet

Acer shirasawanum 'Yasemin' is a full moon Japanese Maple with excellent variations of red color all year long. 'Yasemin' emerges in spring with stunning deep red leaves that eventually darken to a dark purple towards the end of spring. The color fades some in the summer as nearly all red Japanese maples do. In the fall the leaves turn to a bright red. As a full moon Japanese maple the leaves of 'Yasemin' are quite large and broad though they are more deeply divided than most full moon types. 'Yasemin' can handle the heat and the sun very well making it an excellent variety for most climates. 'Yasemin' will grow into a short to medium size tree with a nice canopy. 'Yasemin' is an excellent upright Japanese maple variety for anyone who wants a classic red Japanese maple look that is still a little unique.  10 Year Size: Height: 8-10 feet   Width: 4-6 feet

Acer sieboldianum 'Shoryu no tsume', meaning "claw of the dragon" is a fantastic cold tolerant, upright growing, green japanese maple. As the name suggests, the leaves are heavily divided making the full leaf look similar to a dragon claw. Fall color displays a showstopping red. This tree can grow in many zones- 4-9 and will make an excellent addition to any yard.  

'Murasaki kiyohime' is a small maple that will grow much wider than tall,  Like it's close relative 'Kiyo hime' this cultivar emerges in spring with red tips to the leaves before turning green for the summer. there are very slight differences between the 2 maples. We find that the edge of 'Murasaki kiyohime' to be more maroon red and 'Kiyo hime' to be more orange red but the tint of these colors can be affected by the sun making them hard to  distinguish. Fall color ranges from bronze to orange. 'Murasaki kiyohime' is also slightly more upright when young, often sending up  vertical shoots of a foot or more on very young plants only to spend the rest of it's life thickening up and growing wider. 'Murasaki kiyohime' is relatively fast growing and will become a specimen in the garden after just a few years.10 year size: Height: 2 feet   Width: 4-5 feet

Pinus sylvestris 'Green Penguin' is a fantastic variety of Scots Pine. Named after the mature, penguin-like shape, 'Green penguin' is an ultra hardy plant that can be grown in nearly all climates in the United States. 'Green Penguin' is a dwarf Scots Pine that only grows to be about 6 feet tall at maturity. The foliage on 'Green penguin' is a very attractive emerald green that holds well throughout the winter.  10 Year Size: Height: 4-6 feet   Width: 2-4 feet 

Acer sieboldianum ‘Seki no kegan’ is like many other sieboldianum maples in that it is extremely hardy and displays wonderful orange. red and yellow fall color. What sets this cultivar apart is its growth habit. Starting prostrate or even slightly upright when young, with age this cool little plant becomes extremely pendulous. 10 Year Size:   Height: 3-4 Feet   Width: 6-8 feet

Thuja occidentalis ‘Degroot Spire’ is an arborvitae that can be used in any landscape. This is the most columnar plant that we grow at Maple Ridge Nursery. ‘Degroot Spire’ will reach 12-14 feet tall over 10 years while only getting about 2 feet wide. This makes this plant excellent for slender spaces. ‘Degroot Spire’ can also handle the sun very well even in hotter climates. 10 Year Size: Height: 12-14 feet Width: 1-2 feet Color: Green Sun Tolerance: Full

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Well’s Special’ is an upright growing hinoki cypress with attractive, dark green foliage. ‘Well’s Special’ is a medium growing hinoki cypress that can be used as a centerpiece in the garden or as a companion plant elsewhere in the landscape. ‘Well’s Special’ is a versatile evergreen that can be used nearly anywhere in the yard. 10 Year Size: Height: 8-10 feet Width: 6-8 feet

Amazingly short lobes for an Acer palmatum give 'Utsu semi' and unbeatable texture that contrasts well with almost everything in the garden. Add to that the vivid light green color in spring and you get a must have show stopper of a plant. 'Utsu semi' translates to grasshopper like skin. In summer leaves darken slightly but would still be considered light green. In fall the leaves turn orange to purple while the leaf veins remain green giving it a striking affect. Requires shade in warmer climates. 'Utsu semi' is rather slow growing and a little difficult to propagate so it is rather rare in the nursery trade. Acer palmatum 'Peridot Flame' is an exceptional green Japanese maple with intense fall color. The leaves emerge with soft peach and orange-green tones. Foliage settles into a rich olive-green, often edged or veined with pale lime highlights. As temperatures cool, colors shift to vibrant yellow, orange-yellow, and eventually orange-red. 10 Year Size: Height: 8-10 feet   Width: 4-6 feet

Acer palmatum ‘Yellow Cascade’ is a weeping Japanese maple with broad palmate leaves. This is quite unusual as most weeping Japanese maples have dissected leaves. ‘Yellow Cascade’ has a golden yellow color in the spring and summer before turning a vibrant orange in the fall. This is a fast growing variety that will need to be staked to achieve the desired height. 10 Year Size: Height: 3-5 feet Width: 4-6 feet

Acer palmatum ‘Vic’s Broom’ is a fast growing dwarf Japanese maple with tiny leaves. These small leaves emerge in spring light green with red edges. The leaves transition to solid green by late spring. The foliage of ‘Vic’s Broom’ remains green until fall when the leaves turn yellow and orange. ‘Vic’s Broom’ will develop long leaders when young, but it will eventually form a dense shrub.10 Year Size: Height: 2-4 feet Width: 4-6 feet
