Acer palmatum 'O jishi' - mapleridgenursery Acer palmatum 'O jishi' - mapleridgenursery
Acer palmatum 'O jishi' Lion's Head Japanese Maple
from $39.00
Acer palmatum ‘O jishi’ is one of the famous lions head maples. 'O jishi' is the male lion and 'Meijishi' is the female lion. Shishigashira means lions head, and while this term can be used to describe either cultivar it is generally used to describe 'Meijishi'. The leaves of 'Ojishi' are heavily crinkled but lighter in color and not quite as tightly crinkled as 'Meijishi'. 'O jishi' is also a much slower growing smaller tree. In full sun new growth has a red tinge to the tips of the foliage. Fall color is red and glorious. The leaves appear very crowded on the stem giving the tree a compact and congested look, with the short internodal length making it hard to propagate and contributing to the fact that it is rarely seen in nurseries. 'O jishi' is excellent for containers and makes a wonderful patio tree.10 Year size:  Height:  4-5  Feet    Width: 3-4 FeetSpring Color: GreenSummer Color: GreenFall Color: OrangeSun Tolerance: PartialPlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil

Acer japonicum 'Vitifolium' - mapleridgenursery
Acer japonicum 'Vitifolium' Full Moon Japanese Maple
from $39.00
The large leaves on ‘Vitifolium’ are what give it its name as they resemble the leaves of a grape vine. These large leaves emerge green with a bronze hue before maturing to a darker green in late spring and into the summer. This tree also has more prominent flowers in the spring than most Japanese Maples. These small red flowers really stand out on the light green spring foliage. However, the fall is when ‘Vitifolium’ really shows out with a display of yellows and oranges and reds all over the tree. ‘Vitifolium’ is a strong and fast grower that will reach 10-15 feet tall in about 10 years. The sturdy branching and round topped form give this tree a wonderful look for the garden. While ‘Vitifolium’ can handle full sun in cooler areas, it prefers filtered light or partial shade in warmer climates. ‘Vitifolium’ has also received the RHS Award of Garden Merit. 10 Year Size: 10-15 ft tall 8-10 ft wideSpring Color: Light green with bronze hueSummer Color: GreenFall Color: Array of yellows, oranges, and redsSun Tolerance: Partial ShadePlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil

Pinus parviflora 'Billie' Japanese White Pine - Maple Ridge Nursery
Pinus parviflora 'Billie' Japanese White Pine
from $49.00
Pinus parviflora ‘Billie’ is a charming dwarf evergreen conifer with a dense, pyramidal form that brings structure. Its short, soft needles emerge a light, silver-green color which offers a refreshing contrast to the more common blue-green tones found in many Japanese white pine cultivars. This slow-growing selection reaches approximately 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide in 10 years.  ‘Billie’ was originally raised as a seedling by John Proudfoot of Scotland and has become a sought-after variety for collectors and conifer enthusiasts alike. 'Billie' can handle full sun in most climates, but prefers some shade in the hottest climates.
Acer palmatum 'Red Pygmy' (Reverted) - Maple Ridge Nursery Acer palmatum 'Red Pygmy' (Reverted) - Maple Ridge Nursery
Acer palmatum 'Red Pygmy' (Reverted)
from $39.00
'Red Pygmy' may not be the best named linearilobum but it is one of the best all around Japanese Maples. Although slower growing than some of the vigorous forms of  linearilobum, 'Red Pygmy' can attain heights of more than 15 feet with age. While it comes out red in spring and may hold color into the summer in some areas, 'Red Pygmy' quickly turns green as temperatures begin to rise in hot climates. The green is a dark rich green throughout the summer then as a startling contrast this plant will turn bright yellow or gold in fall. 'Red Pygmy ' leaves have some of the narrowest lobes of the red linearilobums often having an interesting twist in the lobe. 'Red Pygmy' tolerates sun well. The changes in color and the very graceful shape make this a must have plant for collectors and occasional gardeners alike. These trees are not displaying their usual characteristics, but they are still great looking Japanese maples. In my experience reverted trees still display typical fall colors regardless of the shape of the leaves. These trees are also not guaranteed to never regain their distinguishing characteristics, but they aren't currently showing it so it has to be noted. Despite the uncharacteristic leaves these trees have been some of the most beautiful trees in the nursery all spring. The pictures show these actual trees. 10 year size:  Height: 5-7 Feet   Width: 3-5 Feet Spring Color: Red Summer Color: Green Fall Color: Yellow Sun Tolerance: Partial Planting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil
