Grafted Trees

Abies koreana 'Aurea' is a Korean Fir with golden yellow needles with silver undersides that grow on horizontal branches. 'Aurea' grows with a mostly pyramidal habit and develops into a medium sized conifer. 'Aurea' develops purple cones that contrast very nicely with the golden yellow foliage. 10 Year Size: 12-14 feet   Width: 10-12 feet 

Acer palmatum 'Koyamadani nishiki' is known as the snowflake maple. 'Koyamadani nishiki' is a very interesting Japanese maple with an unusual leaf shape. The edges of these leaves are rounded off in a very unique way. The color of these unusual leaves is an attractive emerald green. These leaves then turn a reddish orange color in the fall.  10 Year Size: Height: 10-12 feet   Width: 6-8 feet

Acer x pseudosieboldianum ‘First Flame’ leafs out early in spring with a bright reddish orange color that is very striking. ‘First Flame’ has small, star shaped leaves that hold this orange color until summer when the leaves turn green. ‘First Flame’ has a compact upright habit, making it a perfect tree for almost any location. Like other Acer x pseudosieboldianum maples, ‘First Flame’ is extremely cold tolerant and is hardy up to zone 5. 10 Year Size: Height: 14-16 feet Width: 8-10 feet

Acer palmatum 'Strawberry Fields' is a Japanese maple with reticulated variegation. 'Strawberry Fields' emerges in the spring with a peachy and pink color. This pink leaf color quickly changes to green and white. These leaves have typical reticulated coloration with dark green veins that contrast incredibly with the white backdrop. 'Strawberry Fields' maintains a light green and white reticulated coloration throughout the summer before turning a nice orange color in the fall. 10 Year Size: Height: 6-8 feet   Width: 4-6 feet

Acer palmatum ‘Mikawa Nishiki’ is variegated Japanese maple with pink, green, and white colors to the leaves. At peak variegation the leaves will be a light pink with green centers to the leaves. Most of the year 'Mikawa Nishiki' displays white variegation on top of a green leaf. These leaves will eventually will turn orange to red in the fall. ‘Mikawa Nishiki’ needs to be protected from the hot afternoon sun, but morning or dappled sun help to provide excellent color to the variegated leaves in the spring. Variegated leaves on ‘Mikawa Nishiki’ develop more as it matures, so be patient with this one and you will reap the beautiful benefits in the long run. 'Mikawa Nishiki’ will grow into a small to medium sized tree at maturity. 10 Year Size: Height: 10-12 feet Width: 4-6 feet

Cryptomeria japonica 'Compressa' is a dwarf Japanese cedar with short, compact branches ending with rosette needles. These needles are a dark, emerald green with an attractive glossy look. 'Compressa' is a smaller version of the already dwarf 'Vilmoriniana'. 'Compressa' is an excellent dwarf conifer for small locations in the landscape. 10 Year Size: Height: 1-2 feet   Width: 1-2 feet 

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Bess' is a very slow growing hinoki cypress that only achieves an inch or two of growth per year. A mature 'Bess' will only grow to be about a foot or two tall in 10 years. 'Bess' has beautiful, emerald green foliage that is soft and wavy to the touch.  10 Year Size: Height: 1-2 feet   Width: 1-2 feet

Picea abies 'Aurea Jakobsen' is an upright growing Norway spruce with excellent golden color. The main leader of the tree grows directly upright while the ends of the branches weep down. The golden of the foliage makes this tree glow in the landscape.  10 Year Size: Height: 6-8 feet   Width: 3-4 feet 

Acer palmatum 'Mama' is a small, upright Japanese maple with very irregular leaves. The leaves of 'Mama' are cut and dissected in a multitude of ways giving the overall texture of the tree a very different look. 'Mama' will be green in the spring and summer. 'Mama' looks great in the fall too with yellow to red fall color.  10 Year Size: Height: 4-6 feet   Width: 3-5 feet 

Acer shirasawanum 'Red Dawn' is probably a hybrid between shirasawanum and palmatum this maple has brilliant red spring color enhanced by the white pubescence on newly emerging leaves. This very strong growing upright cultivar hold its color well into the summer. Fall color is also red. 'Red Dawn' tolerates heat and sun very well but would appreciate a break from the hot summer sun in hotter climates. Even though this cultivar is most often listed as a shirasawanum it should be considered a hybrid or maybe even a palmatum as the seeds hang down like a palmatum rather than being held erect like true shirasawanums.  10 Year Size: Height:  10-12 Feet    Width:  5-6 Feet
