Acer palmatum ‘Brocade’ is an exceptional laceleaf Japanese maple, prized for its dramatic weeping habit and ever-changing foliage color. In spring, new growth emerges a brilliant orange-red, gradually deepening to rich dark red before softening into red-green tones for summer. Fresh flushes of orange-red new growth continue to appear through the season, adding layers of color and texture. In autumn, ‘Brocade’ truly lives up to its name, turning glowing shades of bright orange infused with red—often showing even stronger orange fall color than the popular ‘Orangeola,’ though ‘Brocade’ was introduced earlier. One of the defining characteristics of ‘Brocade’ is its intensely cascading habit. This is one of the most strongly weeping laceleaf varieties available—so much so that, left unstaked, it will creep and flow across the ground, forming a low, spreading mound. Over ten years it typically reaches 1–1.5 feet tall and about 6 feet wide, creating a beautiful carpet of fine, lacy foliage. For a more architectural look, stake ‘Brocade’ to 3–4 feet and allow the branches to cascade downward in dramatic layers. This variety combines spectacular color with a uniquely strong weeping form, making it a standout focal point in rock gardens, near water features, or in the foreground of mixed plantings.

Acer palmatum ‘Enkan’ has very fine linearilobum foliage and a small compact growth habit. More gardeners should find a spot for 'Enkan' in the garden. In spring foliage emerges a deep wine color and holds its red into the summer very well. Fall color ranges from orange red to deep red. Some palmate leaves appear on new growth but older foliage is quite narrow. It is very interesting the way leaves seem to hang downward from the petioles.  This variety is said to come from South Korea but has a Japanese name that means the tube. 10 year size:  Height: 5-7 Feet   Width: 4-5 Feet

Acer palmatum ‘Blonde Beauty’ is a Japanese maple with reticulated variegation. The leaves are green with blonde-yellow highlights and dark veins. Fall foliage is bright red. 10 Year Size: Height: 6-8 feet Width: 6-8 feet

Acer palmatum 'Caperci Dwarf' is a dwarf Japanese maple with a compact growth habit. The leaves of 'Caperci dwarf' are green with red edges in the spring. These leaves then turn yellow to orange in the fall.  10 Year Size: Height: 2-3 feet   Width: 2-3 feet 

This vigorous tree has bright red leaves that are heavily serrated on a graceful bushy frame creating a heavily textured statement in the garden. Fall color is bright orange and wonderful. Spring is a wonderful time for Acer palmatum ‘Satsuki Beni’ as chartreuse leaves are adorned with red highlights at the tips. ‘Satsuki beni’ is a strong grower, older plants can attain 25 feet or more. Fall color is red and fantastic most years. 10 Year size:  Height: 10-12 Feet   Width: 5-7 Feet
