Pictures were taken from our ‘Goldylocks’ growing in heavy shade. Notice the lack of golden color. Pinus strobus 'Bennett O.D.' is a variegated Eastern White Pine with stunning yellow color especially in the spring. This makes this pine stand out above all others in the garden. 'Bennett O.D.' has an upright growth habit but shouldn't grow taller than about 8 feet at maturity making it a great tree for any landscape. The O.D. stands for Oculus Draconis, but this tree should not be confused with Pinus densiflora 'Oculus Draconis' although they both have similar Dragon's Eye golden variegation.
