Acer palmatum 'Fireglow' is the Perfect Red Upright Japanese Maple for Any Yard

Acer palmatum 'Fireglow' is the perfect name for this small upright Japanese maple introduced by Nurseries Gilardelli in Italy. The large, broad leaves emerge more dark red than purple in spring and are thinner than other cultivars making them somewhat translucent. If sited where it can be viewed with the rising or setting sun behind it the leaves will glow a bright red. If you are watching when the sun gets to the proper angle it looks like someone turned on an electrical switch and the tree was lit. Fall color is constantly bright red.

'Fireglow' is a moderate growing upright Japanese maple. 'Fireglow' will grow close to a foot per year eventually reaching 10 to 12 feet tall. 'Fireglow' will grow with a vase-shape structure with the canopy spreading out about 4 to 6 feet wide.

Acer palmatum 'Fireglow' is an excellent Japanese maple tree that can grow in just about any condition. 'Fireglow' should grow well in zones 4 through 10 and will handle full sun in pretty much any climate. 'Fireglow' is one of the best upright growing Japanese maples for full sun and warmer climates.

Fireglow Japanese Maple

Again, I am very pleased with the tree I received from Maple Ridge Nursery. Trees are always well packaged and in perfect condition upon arrival. I will enjoy watching this one grow and glow. I have another, but it’s in a hedge and was pretty much shaded out til recently, so it shouldn’t take long for this one to catch up. Good product for the money and a tremendous selection to choose from. And I thought I was finished planting these gorgeous plants. I’ll be back!
