I bought this tree solely for the name, Roll Tide, but as soon as I unboxed it, I feel in love, it's absolutely gorgeous.
Great service
After much online research for a reputable Japanese maple nursery, we ordered 3 varieties of Japanese maple trees from Maple Ridge Nursery. The Oshio Beni was the smallest one at 1 gallon, but that didn’t mean it isn’t as beautiful or as big as the other two 3 gallon maples we purchased. The Oshio Beni maple came sturdily strapped inside a tall cardboard box, and the planting bucket was wrapped & tapped to prevent soil loss during shipment. Upon arrival it was the smallest maple tree of the three with fuzzy leaf buds starting to form. I say “was” the smallest, because after a few days the fuzzy buds leafed out revealing beautiful broad light purple colored leaves. (We planted our maples within a few days of receipt). And, it definitely sprouted up some in a matter of weeks-we have had this tree for about 3 weeks now. While the tree trunk is slimmer than the 3 gallon varieties we also purchased (both are mounding dwarf varieties), the Oshio Beni has almost caught up in spread and height to one of the other red lace leaf Japanese maple purchased at the same time. We couldn’t be happier that we received such beautiful and healthy maples from Maple Ridge Nursery. Thank you so much for our lovely maples!

What I like about this tree are a few things. The narrow grow habit, dark, very dark, green foliage, short needles, compacted growth. Very happy with this tree also arrived in great condition. All the trees I received from this nursery came in great healthy condition. If you like Japanese maples and conifers, I recommend give this nursery chance.
My first Banshosho, what a pretty little tree. Bright green foliage, short needles somewhat darker, brown bark, looks gorgeous. Couple of days after receiving it. I went on site to buy a couple more, it was sold out. I might’ve got the last one :)
I will definitely be checking the site to at least buy one more, if not too.

I am really glad I found this website and store. I was looking for a specific plant, a reis dwarf cypress, and sure enough Maple Ridge had it and shipped it. It arrived about a week and a half after ordering. The outside box was pretty beat up looking so I was a bit skeptical at first but after unboxing the plants inside were un damaged. I planted them immediately and they seem to be doing great so far. I love the look of these and can’t wait to see them grow in my yard.
The trees arrived very well packaged and moist when they arrived. They were smaller than I expected. I planted them within 48 hours. They seem to be establishing, it's a bit early to tell how it will go.

All is well and good. I put the tree in a two gallon air pruning pot. Tonight we are supposed to get some much needed rain. Perfect time for that. Next year I will set the tree into the wild. 😜
