The Rooted Conifer Bundle is a mystery pack of four different conifer varieties grown from their own roots. These conifers have a myriad of uses in the garden. Abies koreana 'Blue Magic' is a dwarf variety of Korean fir. 'Blue Magic' grows upright and conical but very slowly. 'Blue Magic' is a small tree with a dense growth habit. Aside from the small habit, 'Blue Magic' is known for the bright silver foliage that is absolutely stunning. 'Blue Magic' will also from bluish cones that are quite attractive and contrast well with the foliage. This is an excellent tree for small gardens.

Picea orientalis 'Spring Frost' Dwarf Oriental Spruce

Picea orientalis 'Spring Frost' is an upright growing oriental spruce with a broad growing habit. 'Spring Frost' will have shoots of yellow new growth on the ends of each branch in the spring. This new growth eventually matures to a dark green foliage for the rest of the summer. 'Spring Frost' eventually grows into a short, broad tree at maturity.

Picea orientalis 'Shadow's Broom' has some of the richest green color of any conifer you will find. As the name suggests, 'Shadow's Broom' was found as a witches broom by Don Shadow and is a great dwarf conifer for the garden. 'Shadow's Broom' is a small, dense growing shrub while young but eventually forms a short dense tree at maturity.

Pinus parviflora 'Regenhold Broom'

Pinus parviflora 'Regenhold Broom' is one of the few Japanese White Pines that were discovered as witches brooms. The needles are an attractive bluish green and even shorter than typical Japanese White Pines. 'Regenhold Broom' is a very slow growing pine only growing a couple inches per year.

Cryptomeria japonica ‘Bandai’ is a mounding form of Japanese cedar with the foliage appearing to form in tight dark green clumps. It will be slightly taller than wide. It will grow equally well in sun or shade.This plant is sometimes called 'Bandai Sugi' but according to recently accepted rules for plant names the sugi has been dropped because it means Cryptomeria and thus is redundant. Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Kosteri’ is a small upright conical shrub. 'Kosteri' grows almost as wide as it does tall. As if the rich green foliage and the chocolate colored bark were not enough to make 'Kosteri' beautiful, add the fact that the leaves tend to curl downward on the ends and you get one of the most regal forms in the garden and one of my favorite conifers.
