Pinus parviflora ‘Tenysu kazu’ is a dwarf Japanese white pine with golden variegation to otherwise green foliage. ‘Tenysu kazu’ is a dense, upright growing pine that shouldn’t reach more than 4 feet at maturity. The golden color is best displayed in nearly full sun situations. ‘Tenysu kazu’ is also known for its small, attractive cones. ‘Tenysu kazu’ is most likely synonymous with Pinus Parviflora ‘Goldylocks’, however ‘Tenysu kazu’ is believed to be the proper name. There is enough conflicting information though that we keep both varieties labelled separately.
