Acer palmatum ‘Kin pai’ is a variegated form of ‘Osakazuki’. Everything about ‘Kin pai’ is similar to that of its parent plant, ‘Osakazuki’, except for the pink and red edges to the leaves. The leaves of ‘Kin pai’ are also much narrower than the large leaves of ‘Osakazuki’. The variegation on the leaves of ‘Kin pai’ is most prominent in the spring, but can be seen pretty much all Sumer as well.
