Acer palmatum 'Orangeola'from $35.00
'Orangeola' is one of the fastest growing dissectums but still does not attain height very quickly. This great plant changes personality all season long. It emerges with tones of green and orange in early spring and as the sun works it's magic on the foliage it quickly turns purple. Next as spring turns into summer the older leaves start to slowly turn green, this process happens over a number of weeks during which the leaves appear molted with infused colors of green and purple washed across each leaf. About the time the entire plant becomes green in mid to late summer 'Orangeola' decides it is time to grow again, putting out red new growth that lays over the older foliage. Then in fall it really puts on a show with traffic stopping bright orange-red leaves. This plant does extremely well in hotter climates.10 Year Size Height: 3-5 Feet Width: 6-8 FeetSpring Color: RedSummer Color: GreenFall Color: Orange,RedSun Tolerance: FullPlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil
Acer palmatum 'Viridis' Green Lace Leaf Japanese Maplefrom $35.00
The name says it all, ‘Viridis’ means green in Latin and 'Viridis' is the standard by which all green dissectums are judged. Acer palmatum 'Viridis' is a green lace leaf Japanese maple with light green foliage in spring, that usually darkens in the summer. 'Viridis' turns to a bright yellow to gold color in the fall. 'Viridis is a green lace leaf japanese maple with cascading branches and foliage that make this a show stopper in any garden. Many of the oldest, most beautiful and stately Japanese maples in America are this cultivar. 10 year size: Height: 4-6 Feet Width: 6-8 Feet Spring Color: Light Green Summer Color: Green Fall Color: Yellow Sun Tolerance: Partial Planting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil
Acer palmatum 'Inaba shidare' Weeping Japanese Maplefrom $35.00
Acer palmatum ‘Inaba shidare’ weeping Japanese maple is one of the best lace leaf cultivars for hotter climates, it's name means "like the cascading leaves of the rice plant" and has been grown since at least the mid 1800s in Japan. The leaves in early spring are very dark purple and I have heard them described as almost black. As summer approaches they become more red, then turning bronze before being one of the last maples in our gardens to finally give in to the Georgia heat and turn green. Fall color is usually bright fiery red. Acer palmatum 'Inaba shidare' weeping Japanese maple is a great tree to add some color to a sunny garden. 10 Year Size: Height: 4-6 Feet Width: 7-9 Feet Spring Color: Dark Purple Summer Color: Bronze Fall Color: Bright Red Sun Tolerance: Full Planting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil Our 1 Gallon and 3 Gallon sizes are available for shipping and in store pickup. Acer palmatum 'Tamukeyama' Dwarf Japanese Maplefrom $35.00
Acer palmatum 'Tamukeyama' Dwarf Japanese maple has been grown in Japan for around 300 years. Recently it has become accepted as one of the best lace leaf varieties in cultivation, and probably the best red lace leaf for hot climates. 'Tamukeyama' not only tolerates but actually thrives in our hot Georgia summers even in full sun. 'Tamukeyama' Dwarf Japanese Maple is one of the fastest growing weeping Japanese maples we grow, slightly more irregular and upright than other lace leaf varieties. New growth is dark red in spring and holds very well especially in sunny locations. Fall color is a mix of fiery reds with a hint of orange undertone that predictably puts on one of the falls best shows. 10 Year Size: Height 6-8 Feet Width 8-10 Feet Spring Color: Red Summer Color: Red Fall Color: Red Sun Tolerance: Full Planting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil Our 1 Gallon and 3 Gallon sizes are available for shipping and in store pickup. Our larger sizes (7 Gallon and bigger) are only available for in store pickup.
Acer palmatum 'Red Dragon'from $35.00
'Red Dragon' will stay more red during summer than most varieties. The coarse leaves begin the spring dark purple and become more red as temperatures increase. By mid August in Georgia when summer temperatures reach their peak and most other red varieties have turned green 'Red Dragon' still has some bronze or slight bits of red left on it's leaves. Fall color is a dramatic crimson red. The growth habit of 'Red Dragon' is not as pendulous as other weeping cultivars, at times almost prostrate. While 'Red Dragon' will tolerate full sun in some climates, it would prefer a break from the sun at some point during the day in hotter areas. Although 'Red Dragon is reported to be a moderate grower in some climates, we find it to be very slow in the south. 10 Year Size Height: 3-5 Feet Width: 5-6 FeetSpring Color: RedSummer Color: RedFall Color: CrimsonSun Tolerance: PartialPlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil
Acer palmatum 'Waterfall'from $35.00
‘Waterfall’ is almost identical to 'Viridis', but most experts consider 'Waterfall' to be more pendulous and smaller leafed. We see very little difference in shape or leaf size at our nursery, although it may be slightly slower growing. Where we do see a huge difference is in the fall color which in addition to the bright yellow and gold of 'Viridis', 'Waterfall' displays wonderful reds and oranges washed across the leaves. 10 year Size: Height: 4-6 feet Width: 6-8 Feet Spring Color: Green Summer Color: Green Fall Color: Yellow, Orange Sun Tolerance: Partial Planting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil Our 1 Gallon and 3 Gallon sizes are available for shipping and in store pickup. Our larger sizes (7 Gallon and bigger) are only available for in store pickup.
Acer palmatum 'Crimson Queen'from $35.00
Introduced in 1965 ‘Crimson Queen’ has become the standard by which all red, lace leaf maples are judged and probably the most common dissectum grown in America. This is one of the very best Japanese maple dissectums. Its color, when in prime leaf, is unsurpassed. Crimson Queen will tolerate full sun, even in hot climates but it is much happier if it can be provided with a few hours shade during the day or indirect light. Under perfect conditions Crimson Queen can hold its red color as well or better than most cultivars. The growth habit is decidedly pendulous and will form a beautiful low mound only gaining height as it matures and begins to mound over itself. Crimson Queen left on it's own is beautiful and graceful but with a little training can become a specimen anyone could be proud of.10 year size: Height: 4-6 Feet Width 6-8 FeetSpring Color: BurgundySummer Color: Green, BronzeFall Color: RedSun Tolerance: FullPlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil

Acer palmatum ‘Aka kawa hime’ is a dwarf coral bark Japanese maple. If you are looking for a coral bark that won’t get any taller than 6 feet, then look no further. ‘Aka kawa hime’ will have all the characteristics of a regular coral bark Japanese maple such as ‘Sango kaku’ but at a fraction of the size. ‘Aka kawa hime’ will maintain a short, bushy habit. ‘Aka kawa hime’ is the perfect coral bark Japanese maple for any small space in the yard.
Acer japonicum 'Taki no gawa' Full Moon Japanese Maplefrom $35.00
Acer japonicum ‘Taki-no-gawa’ is a full moon Japanese maple with huge leaves. These leaves emerge lime green in the spring with small red flowers. The large leaves then turn a dark green for most of the summer. ‘Taki-no-gawa’ then puts on a show in the fall with orange to bright red fall color. ‘Taki-no-gawa’ is a smaller growing full moon Japanese maple that is quite unique with its huge leaves. 10 Year Size: Height: 6-8 feet Width: 4-6 feet
Acer japonicum 'Green Cascade' Full Moon Japanese Maplefrom $35.00
‘Green Cascade’ is a cascading or weeping form of Acer japonicum. The leaves on mature plants can be quite large. These leaves are deeply dissected and in spring are a brilliant bright green. The overall shape of Green Cascade is quite different than most weeping Acer palmatums in that it looks more like a sprawling octopus, when young, than a tight bush. It does, however become much more dense with age. Like other japonicums it is in fall that ‘Green Cascade’ really shines. Fall color is awesomely brilliant with red, yellow and orange all on the same leaves.10 Year Size: Height: 4-5 Feet Width: 5-8 FeetSpring Color: Bright GreenSummer Color: GreenFall Color: Yellow, Red, and OrangeSun Tolerance: Partial ShadePlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil
Acer palmatum 'Baldsmith' Lace Leaf Japanese Maplefrom $35.00
In spring, ‘Baldsmith’ has leaves that emerge much more of a deep red than the burgundy color of most "red" Japanese Maples. Soon after, most of the leaf turns green leaving just the margins a very attractive red. The red and green of the bi color leaf at this stage makes the overall tree appear almost orange and gives it a very distinctive appearance. In some climates this look lasts well into the summer but in hotter climates where some afternoon shade would be greatly appreciated, 'Baldsmith' fades to green as summer takes hold. Fall color ranges from yellow to red to orange.Height: 4-6 Feet Width 6-8 Feet in ten yearsSpring Color: RedSummer Color: Green Fall Color: OrangeSun tolerance: PartialPlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil
Acer palmatum 'Kandy Kitchen'from $35.00
Acer palamtum 'Kandy Kitchen' was found as a witches broom in Pennsylvania by Joe Stupka of Stupka Nursery in the late 1990's. This small upright shrub like tree boasts a wide array of colors, appearing first cherry red but then as the older leaves darken to maroon, new more pink leaves emerge at the tips. Intensely red bark on young branches and beautiful scarlet fall color help lend to the overall appeal of this great little tree.10 year size: Height: 4-6 Feet Width: 3-5 FeetSpring Color: RedSummer Color: MaroonFall Color: RedSun Tolerance: PartialPlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil
Acer palmatum 'Ruslyn in Pink'from $35.00
Acer palmatum 'Ruslyn in the Pink' has rather large leaves for a dwarf. The foliage first appears pink or orange pink in early spring depending on the amount of sunlight it receives. The foliage begins to darken to red and then purple within a few weeks. As summer takes over from spring older growth eventually fades from purple to bronze and eventually olive green. Any late summer growth comes out with the pink color from early spring. The fall color crimson and is very dramatic for a small tree. 'Ruslyn in the Pink' was discovered by Vern Palmeter at Ruslyn Nursery in New Platz, New York. 10 year size: Height: 4-5 Feet Width: 3-4 Feet Spring Color: PinkSummer Color: BurgundyFall Color: CrimsonSun Tolerance: PartialPlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil
Acer palmatum 'Heartbeat'from $35.00
‘Heartbeat’ is an Australian cultivar that is just making its way into the gardening culture of the United States. 'Heartbeat' would be a great addition to any garden. The leaves are extremely dissected with lobes that are held very far apart, making the overall leaf almost appear round. The habit is very low and spreading forming a plant that is much wider than tall. Spring color is more red and less purple than other similar Japanese Maples. As summer approaches leaves turn first bronze then green but this vigorous grower seems to put on new red growth at the tips all summer long even in hot climates. Fall color is crimson.10 year size: Height 2-4 Feet Width 6-8 Feet Spring Color: RedSummer Color: BronzeFall Color: CrimsonSun Tolerance: FullPlanting: Elevated, Well drained soil
Acer palmatum 'Carll's Corner'from $35.00
Acer palmatum 'Carll's Corner' has a short center lobe that gives this small, dense red maple an interesting texture. Emerging bright red almost pink in spring the new leaves soon become a dark burgundy. The color holds well most of the summer even in warmer climates where some afternoon shade is preferred. Fall color is dark red. Slow growing, 'Carll's Corner' eventually forms nice rounded shrub. 10 year size: Height: 4-5 feet Width: 3-4 feet Spring Color: RedSummer Color: BurgundyFall Color: RedSun Tolerance: FullPlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil
Acer palmatum 'Washi-no-o'from $35.00
The leaf of 'Washi-no-o’ is a little more coarse than some dissectums and the margins of each lobe are cut more regularly and less deep than most dissectums giving it a very unique texture. This mounding shrub type maple tolerates more sun than most green lace leafs. I have even grown this cultivar in full sun in Atlanta, Georgia but some shade would be appreciated. Fall color, which is always spectacular if sometimes a little later than some other maples, is usually bright yellow, although sometimes in sunnier locations the yellow will be mixed with orange.10 year size: Height: 3-4 Feet Width: 5-7 FeetSpring Color: GreenSummer Color: GreenFall Color: YellowSun Tolerance: PartialPlanting: Elevated, Well Drained Soil
