This was my first time ordering. The Katsura was the gallon xl size and I was quite surprised by the size of it for the price. It was shipped dormant so hoping to see it leaf out nicely in the spring

The tree(s) arrived quickly, packed well and very healthy. My review is more about the nursery.
My obsession/addiction kicked in in 2023. In 2024 I decided to compare some of the different mail order vendors of JMs. Different pot sizes makes comparison difficult. Some vendors may only have #1's of what I am after, while others only have #5. I was very pleased with my first 2 trees from Maple Ridge (Sunny Full moon, and Katsura- both #3). So pleased that I have 2 more in transit. Again, comparison has been difficult but at this point, I would have to put MRN very near the top. Between some extreme weather with not the best soil a few of my trees were looking rough, but the 2 from MRN always looked good. (we had extreme heat and high winds followed by unexpected downpours and high humidity, but Katsura and sunny (and a few others ) looked very nice)

from 986 reviewsFast shipping, received within four days. Leaves all dried up and deformed but starting to have new leaf growth after almost two weeks. Expected this to happen
with the current shipping weather. This tree is very vigorous. No complaints. Looking forward to see how it looks with the new growth in a few weeks.
I recommend Maple Ridge Nursery and will order some more trees when the weather improves.
Thanks!!!
Ordered in the heat of summer and leaves came in scorched and was a little dehydrated. Knew this was a possibility. No complaints.
Good size for a 1 gallon tree. New leaves starting to come out after a week.
Will order some more when the weather improves. Thanks!!
Ordered 5 maple trees in the heat of summer. Shipped within four days but arrived dehydrated and leaves scorched. Knew this was a possibility and over a week later still doing good. No complaints. Great service.
Will order from Maple Ridge again when the heat abates.
Thanks!!
I have ordered twice from this company. I am so impressed with how they ship their plants. Both plants looked great when I received them and they still do in my garden. I will reorder from them again.

Wonderful healthy tree that will look great as a bonsai after years of traing.
great looking plant. Was very pleased with purchase.
If you’re on the fence about this little guy.. get one. They are so unique and cool and the pictures don’t do them justice, they are just so fun in person.
Got a very healthy plant and a nice size considering its growth rate
My one gallon Fairy Lights arrived in perfect shape. It has since been repotted and is awaiting the Fall to be planted into the ground in a small rock garden by our front door.

We are constantly putting trees in larger pots to allow them to grow and not become root bound. Therefore, many of our trees may have loose dirt in the pot until the roots fill out the container.
All of our Japanese Maples are grafted with a side veneer graft unless specifically stated as seedlings. This style of grafting is most commonly used in the nursery industry and allows these trees to still become excellent bonsai as the graft scar will be no longer visible when the trees age.
