Acer japonicum 'Meigetsu' Full Moon Japanese Maple
from $39.00
Acer japonicum ‘Meigetsu’ is a vigorous growing full moon Japanese maple with large, round leaves. ‘Meigetsu’ emerges in the spring with large, light green leaves. These leaves then darken to a dark green for most of the summer. Fall is when ‘Meigetsu’ puts on a show. Much like other full moon Japanese maple varieties, ‘Meigetsu’ has splashes of yellows, oranges, and reds across the foliage in the fall. The name ‘Meigetsu’ translates to “moon” in Japanese. 10 Year Size: Height: 10-12 feet Width: 4-6 feet
Acer japonicum 'Itaya' Full Moon Japanese Maple
from $39.00
This cultivar introduced by the late great plantsman Henry Hohman of Kingsville Nursery in Kingsville Maryland has large rounded leaves typical of other japonicums. This cultivar should be planted in partial shade especially in hot climates as it tends to burn in full sun. This vigorous grower forms a nice round topped tree. Older specimens can reach 20 to 25 feet. Fall color is red, and orange. 10 Year Size: Height: 10-12 Feet Width: 8-10 Feet
Acer japonicum 'Gossamer' Full Moon Japanese Maple
from $39.00
‘Gossamer’ is reportedly a cross between Acer japonicum and Acer palmatum dissectum. This cultivar should probably be listed as Acer japonicum x palmatum 'Gossamer' if this is the case. I have not seen it listed that way. No matter what you call it this is one cool little tree and deserves more attention. Very slow growing when young eventually reaching 10 feet or more with age. The deeply divided foliage almost appears linearilobum like. Beautiful medium green color in spring turning gold, orange and red in autumn. 10 Year Size: Height: 3-5 Feet Width: 2-3 FeetSpring Color: GreenSummer Color: GreenFall Color: Gold, Orange, and RedSun Tolerance: Partial Shade
