Acer palmatum 'Nishiki Sho' Rough Bark Japanese Maple
from $39.00
While some consider this cultivar synonymous with 'Arakawa' this plant collected from Smith-Gilbert Arboretum and labeled 'Nishiki sho' seems different than 'Arakawa' collected from other sources. 'Nishiki sho' seems to form rough corky ridges at a slightly younger age and seems to grow a little faster but shorter and wider than 'Arakawa'. Fall color is yellow to orange. 10 Tear size: Height:12-14 Feet Width: 10-12 Feet
Acer palmatum 'Issai nishiki momiji' Rough Bark Japanese Maple
from $39.00
'Issai nishiki momiji' is a very unique dwarf form of rough bark maple. Issai means one year or a short period. Nishiki refers to the bark So Issai nishiki means that the bark becomes rough within the first year. Momiji means maple and therefore is repetitive when listed as 'Acer palmatum Issai nishiki momiji' and as such maybe this cultivar should only be listed as 'Issai nishiki'. Either way, this little plant is sure to delight. Very rarely available in the trade because of propagation difficulties. There is some question as to its cold hardiness. Fall color is red and orange. 10 Year size Height: 4-6 Feet Width: 2-3 Feet

Acer palmatum 'Ibo nishiki' Rough Bark Japanese Maple
from $39.00
This is another of the cork bark maples highly prized by bonsai enthusiast. 'Ibo nishiki' means "warty bark", however the fissures in the bark of this small tree do not appear as deep as in some other rough bark varieties such as 'Nishi gawa' or 'Arakawa'. This gives the bark of 'Ibo nishiki' a more subtle appearance. Like many other rough bark varieties it usually takes several years for the warty bark to start to appear. Fall color varies from year to year but is normally a beautiful mix of yellow, orange and even red.10 Tear size: Height:12-14 Feet Width: 10-12 Feet
