Pinus parviflora ‘Goldylocks’ is a dwarf Japanese white pine with golden variegation to otherwise green foliage. ‘Goldylocks’ is a short, upright growing pine that shouldn’t reach more than 4 feet at maturity if that. The golden color is best displayed in nearly full sun situations. ‘Goldylocks’ is also known for its small, attractive cones. ‘Goldylocks’ is most likely synonymous with Pinus Parviflora ‘Tenysu kazu’, however there is enough conflicting information that we keep both varieties labelled separately. Pictures were taken from our ‘Goldylocks’ growing in heavy shade. Notice the lack of golden color. In fact, much of ‘Kyokko yatsubusa’s growth is lateral.
