Acer palmatum ‘Nanyat’ is a small growing, upright Japanese maple with crinkled green leaves. This is a very unique Japanese maple variety not only for the unusually leaf shape that is reminiscent of Shishigashira, but ‘Nanyat’ also has bright green bark that really shows out during the winter months. The fall color of this interesting new Japanese maple variety is mostly a bright yellow that really stands out in the landscape.

Acer palmatum 'Ibo nishiki' Rough Bark Japanese Maple

This is another of the cork bark maples highly prized by bonsai enthusiast. 'Ibo nishiki' means "warty bark", however the fissures in the bark of this small tree do not appear as deep as in some other rough bark varieties such as 'Nishi gawa' or 'Arakawa'. This gives the bark of 'Ibo nishiki' a more subtle appearance. Like many other rough bark varieties it usually takes several years for the warty bark to start to appear.
