Acer sieboldianum 'Shoryu no tsume', meaning "claw of the dragon" is a fantastic cold tolerant, upright growing, green japanese maple. As the name suggests, the leaves are heavily divided making the full leaf look similar to a dragon claw. Fall color displays a showstopping red. This tree can grow in many zones- 4-9 and will make an excellent addition to any yard.

Introduced by Talon Buchholz, 'Sweet Lorraine' has amazing lacy leaves with greens and pinks in the spring with its reticulation showing the dark green veining. After spring, leaves transition to a lighter green color and finally in fall, 'Sweet Lorraine' turns a bright yellow/orange color. Sweet Lorraine stays relatively small, only projected to reach about 4 feet or so.

'Rikuzen shidare' has a weeping habit and grows similarly to Ryu sei. It will only grow as tall as it is staked and will weep down to the ground from there. Where it differs from Ryusei is in it's stunning large leaves. The leaves on Rikuzen shidare have a similar shape to an upright grower called 'Osakazuki'. Fall color on Rikuzen shidare is also different from Ryusei as it goes yellow in the fall verses red.
