Acer shirasawanum 'Green Snowflake'

You would think that this plant was a wonderful little Acer palmatum dissectum with its deeply dissected leaves until you look at the seed sets. They are held erect or upright like a shirasawanum and Talon Buchholz from Buchholz and Buchholz Nursery, who introduced the plant, says that this is a seedling off Acer shirasawanum. Probably a hybrid with Acer palmatum this great little plant doesn't care what you call it. The snowflake shaped vibrant green leaves and the bright red blooms make this plant a star of the spring garden. Fall color is yellow to orange.
