Acer palmatum disectum 'Garnet' 'Garnet' was orgionally
introduced in the Nethrlands in the early nineteen sixties where it's
popularity has constantly grown and to this day is one of the most
widely grown dissectums in Europe. U.S. growers unfortunately are
sometimes to quick to jump on the latest greatest cultivars and do not
grow this plant in the numbers they did in the eighties and nineties.
This is a shame, even though 'Garnet does not hold it's color as long
into the Southeastern hot summers as some other cultivars, the orange
red color in spring, bright garnet color in fall and quick rate of
growth all make this a wonderful cultivar.
