Dissectum Group
The
small deeply dissected leaves of this slow growing plant are as delicate
as any other variety. Named by Del Locke of Del's Japanese Maple
Nursery, the name translates to red spider web. Displaying bright
red in spring the color bcomes darker in summer before turning green.
Fall color is a very attractive deep red. Although best colors appear
in more sun, 'Beni kumo no su' does better in at least partial shade
in hot climates.
Synonymous with 'Red Spider Web' which is an invalid cultivar but sold under this name at several nurseries.
